Research Interests
My special fields of interest are cold and arid environment, land degradation and climate change. For the past 20 years, my research has focused on aeolian desertification and its rehabilitation in Northern China. In recent years, one of my works is leading a warming and grazing experiment in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to explore the impact of global warming and human activity on the alpine ecosystem and land degradation. The other work is researching the restoration of degraded oasis ecosystem using multi-aspect integrated approach including water management, sustainable agriculture and ecological techniques.
