RESEARCH INTERESTS
My research focuses on how ecosystem management options and climate change affect carbon cycling in the terrestrial ecosystems from molecular scale to landscape scale, particularly the processes and mechanisms of soil organic matter stabilization and decomposition and coupled nitrogen and phosphorous transformation and bioavailability. The techniques used include the chemical analyses of soil organic matter components, soil mineralogy, and the stability of soil organic matter, as well as data assimilation to study soil organic carbon dynamics.
